Adults Only Paradise in Fiji – Waitui Beach Club at Sofitel Fiji

I came here for a much-needed escape with my best friend (and no kids!) to relax, rejuvenate and brush off the cobwebs of winter.

With Fiji being a short 4 hour flight from Sydney it was the obvious choice for a luxury Mums’ getaway.

Upon entering the adults only Waitui beach club you immediately feel you have walked through the gates of something very special.

The enormous freeform pool (with a nice 25m stretch for swimming laps) is stunning and the best I’ve encountered in my many trip to Fiji. The water is really warm (unlike many of the resort pools in Fiji in August) and it’s infinity edge is perfectly positioned overlooking the beachfront and out to the Pacific Ocean.

Relaxed tunes play throughout the Beach Club and set the tone for a peaceful and chilled experience.  Entertainment comes in the form of a weekly Friday night party with a DJ and a live band performs Saturday evenings.

Upon arrival we were handed cool bottled water and a small tube of mineral sunscreen. Throughout the day staff came around handing out cold towels, and refreshments such as chilled juice and mocktails. One day they even came around with a platter of pork belly bites!

The Beach Club never felt crowded and there was always a selection of daybeds, sun-loungers and cabanas to choose from even when we ambled down at midday.  The wait staff have been very attentive, ready to take your orders the moment you sit down and regularly came around to check if we need anything.

Meals at the Waitui Club have been prepared from a menu designed by nutritionist and personal trainer Lucinda Zammitt and were full of fresh and healthy ingredients. Foodies will love the smashed avocado and goats cheese on wholemeal bread for breakfast and the pork belly bites for lunch all washed down with a detox juice and fresh mango and coconut water smoothie.

Whilst we came to Fiji on this trip for rest and relaxation, you could easily turn a holiday to the Waitui Beach Club into a personal health retreat. The Club has a private gym onsite with qualified trainers on hand and various complimentary fitness classes each morning. There is also a fantastic 5km jogging path leading out from the resort past the Denarau golf course.

Recharge after a workout at the beautiful So Spa within the main Sofitel Fiji complex. We enjoyed a lovely 1 hour full body massage (followed by a glass of complimentary champagne) before we drifted back to the Waitui Beach Club in time for 5pm free cocktail and canapé hour, included with Waitui Beach Club access. Each night there is a different cocktail of the day and my favourite was last night’s cocktail – a Cosmopolitan.

When you stay at the Waitui Beach club you also have access to all the facilities and activities at the main resort at The Sofitel Fiji and one night we devoured the most delicious three-course meal under a private cabana beautifully set up on the beach with the sound of the gently lapping waves in the background.

If you’re looking for a peaceful relaxing escape away from children, look no further, Waitui Beach Club is perfect.
