First Impressions
Within minutes of arriving at Trisara it was clear we had not been to any other resort in Phuket offering such incredible service.
It started the moment we arrived at our two-bedroom villa and our fleet of villa staff offered to unpack our luggage for us and we knew we had arrived somewhere very special. This was the first time we have ever accepted an offer to unpack our luggage and, incredibly, when we were looking for our belongings, toiletries etc, absolutely everything was exactly where you would expect to find it! We were stunned how intuitive the staff were to get that spot on!
The Villa
Our villa was spacious and thoughtfully decorated in contemporary neutral hues still in keeping with traditional Thai décor but with the introduction of lighter woods and soft greys in silk and natural fibres it felt so fresh and peaceful.
Our villa maid Aui was seriously the happiest person we have met, always smiling and anticipating our every need before we had even thought of it!
Some of the amazing things Aui did for us when we were relaxing in the villa:
- She brought freshly baked cookies when we were floating around the villa pool
- She provided iced water regularly throughout the day which was especially welcomed when we arrived back from a shopping trip hot and bothered!
- She served fresh ginger or lemongrass tea in fine bone china which was offered at just the right time, it was like she was a mind-reader!
Our villa consisted of a large lounge room and dining area (with a discreet staff kitchen around the back), two bedrooms and two full en-suite bathrooms in each bedroom. Not to forget the beautiful aquamarine infinity swimming pool that was always the perfect temperature with a great swim-out ledge for the littlies.
Trisara caters so well to families and the children loved the assortment of complimentary pool floats waiting for them in our villa upon arrival.
Here are a few shots of the largest villa at Trisara, with two private pools!
Dining
We enjoyed a fantastic Thai lunch in our villa all prepared by the talented in-house chefs Zec and Tharn. The flavours were amazing (and my husband is Thai so we eat Thai a lot) and the Larb and Som Tum were delicious! The meals looked so colourful and garnished so nicely when it was all laid out on the table it looked ready for a magazine photo shoot! Sadia, our villa manager clearly has everything running smoothly behind the scenes like a well-oiled machine.
When we could steal ourselves away from the villa we tried all the restaurants and they were all excellent. Trisara Chefs select ingredients from their working farm, Pru Jampa, every morning and you can taste the incredible fresh flavours in every meal.
Our first night at Trisara we ate under the stars at The Deck restaurant and indulged in the perfect lobster dish which unfortunately we had to share with our children as they loved the look of it and even more-so the taste! So don’t order Mong Gone Phad Prik Guea Phuket Lobster (sautéed with salt, chilli, garlic and coriander) unless you’re willing to share as it’s delicious! The menu also has a huge variety of international dishes and family-friendly pleasers like pizza and pasta. The Deck puts on a lively Sunday Jazz Brunch which sounds like an ideal way to finish off the weekend.
We spoiled ourselves with the degustation menu at Pru, the candle-lit signature restaurant at Trisara, with matching wines, all paired perfectly. Pru is all about farm-to-table cooking in new and innovative ways and the dishes were not only incredibly tasty but all of them were presented like little works of art. The whole evening told a story from start to finish through the culinary design evoking delighted responses from every one of our senses.
The 45m saltwater resort pool is gorgeous including poolside menu with all the kids favourites served in a really healthy way, with plenty of yummy vegetables on the side – as parents, we love that. My favourite lunchtime dish at the pool was vegetarian rice paper rolls accompanied by an ice-cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Hubby couldn’t go past the Pad Thai. Every Day!
Spa
My husband and I visited the peaceful Jara Spa and enjoyed a ninety minute treatment each. My husband had the Thai massage (he said the therapist was so strong he felt like he had a full body workout! He loves a firm massage) and I had the Signature massage which was bliss. I would have loved to try the unique Royal Trisara 6 Hand Massage had I had an extra day to revisit the spa, it sounds like the ultimate treatment! We relaxed post-treatment with a healthy betel-leaf snack and fresh herbal tea…exactly what the doctor ordered.
Activites
There’s a well-equipped gym and even a boxing ring with gloves etc ready for you to learn Muay Thai. If tennis is more your thing Trisara has two tennis courts and an on-call professional for lessons if required. There is also an in-house yoga instructor qualified in teaching many types of yoga and they run private and group yoga sessions.
There’s a coral reef right in front of Trisara resort and during December to April it’s perfect to utilise the complimentary snorkelling, sailing and kayak equipment as well as windsurfers and SUPs.
For the kids
The kids club is located in the middle of the resort is opened from 8.30am – 5.30pm. Professional childcare staff entertain the children with daily schedule of activities including arts and crafts, outdoor learning and a video library for relaxation time.
You will love:
- The unpacking AND packing service at the end! (The lovely staff somehow managed to fit all my daughter’s shopping in her bag!)
- The outstanding 7 star service
- The food! Oh my goodness the food! Try the noodle soup for breakfast, each day we ordered another bowl as it was so incredible!
- The mangos at breakfast – I’m surprised they didn’t run out as we kept ordering more they were so delicious
- The location: out of the thick of the Phuket hustle and bustle on a private stretch of beach
