We are a family from Sydney, Australia who travel the world with our children.  After so many enquires from our followers as to who I recommend booking through, I decided to add a luxury travel advisor arm to my business so now we can advise and book you the ultimate luxury family holiday.

We have two daughters who are 18 and 15 and two sons who are 11 and 5 which enable us to thoroughly review all the family friendly activities resorts and destinations have on offer across a broad range of children’s ages and interests.

Join us on our travels as we test out and share with you the best places to visit around the world with your children – without sacrificing luxury.

What made you start Luxe Family Travel?

I started Luxe Family Travel in 2014 when I was on an extended family holiday to Europe which was organised by my father to follow his grandfather’s footsteps along the Western Front in WW1.

I knew the places we were about to visit would be life-changing and not something many people do with children in tow so I wanted to share with other families how incredible travelling with your children could be and not to put it off until they are older because it seems too hard.

How long were you away for that trip?

We spent a total of 7 weeks travelling France, Belgium, Italy and Dubai with our 4 children and began planning our next trip before our feet had even touched the ground.

What’s your best memory from that trip?

Probably the dawn service in Villers Brettoneaux. Whilst it was no easy feat getting up at 2am in minus temperatures with 4 kids including an 18 month old, it will forever be etched in our memories as such an important, poignant emotional thing that we now recommend every Australian should do.

Have you always been a traveller?

My husband and I have been together for 22 years and we started our family in our early twenties so I actually didn’t travel alot when I was younger or do the world travelling thing after University.  Hence most of our travelling has been done with kids in tow.

What’s the best place you’ve travelled with your children?

It’s really hard to narrow it down because every place has taught us something and had many positive moments. We enjoy travelling to interesting places where we can immerse ourselves into that country’s culture.

If we had to pick the best cultural experience it would be Chiang Mai in Thailand where have taken our children to three times because the culture there is rich and steeped in history with a lot of jungle based activities for the whole family.

The best luxury destination is the Maldives. The Maldives used to be known as a typically “honeymooners” destination but luxury family travel is on the rapid rise and the Maldives has so much to offer families which is why we specialise in this magical destination.

Best educational experiences travelling with your children?

Every time we travel we try to balance out the “luxury” with educational experiences whilst on holiday for both the children and ourselves.

One that comes to mind was when we spent a day with our World Vision sponsor child at her school and taken supplies to many orphanages and we always go out of the way to visit local villages to try to get a feel for how the locals live.

Favourite family friendly travel destination?

We have travelled to so many family friendly destinations it is really hard to pick a favourite, however Fiji is right up there.  It’s so close to Australia and any time of the year it’s a guaranteed escape to beautiful sunshine and clear warm water teeming with sea-life.  Our absolute favourite thing about Fiji, however, is the genuine, warm nature of the Fijians and their love for children.  It’s a place where the nannies and kids club staff are so loving that you know your children will have a fantastic time and parents get a real, quality break.
