Iniala, Thailand – A bespoke luxury villa experience

Iniala is a completely private, exclusive beachfront oasis in Phang Nga province, Southern Thailand. Comprising of just a small number of villas, all which showcase expansive views across the Andaman Sea, this is the most luxurious place you can stay in Phang Nga.

Iniala is loved by many, demonstrated by regular repeat bookings. It’s also perfect for the numerous celebrities who stay here due to the complete discretion and privacy afforded to them.

First Impressions

The first thing we noticed was the attention to detail all made possible with the help of your villa’s butler, driver, chef, housekeeper and spa therapist along with 24 hour reception.  Four leading designers and craftsmen have created a number of sunset facing unique spaces igniting all the senses.

All luxury villas at Iniala include a chef, driver, spa therapists and housekeepers.

Our Villa

We stayed in the three-bedroom Collectors Villa, which is the largest villa in the complex.

Every room and living space is decked out in floor to ceiling art. The entrance way has pillars adorned with broken pieces of Chiang Mai porcelain, the crystal outdoor dining sala, designed by the Brazilian Campana brothers is an elegant place to enjoy any meal, we enjoyed both breakfasts and lunches there.

Each bedroom had it’s own bathroom with bath tub and separate shower and were thoughtfully designed and decorated with furniture and artifacts from well-known artists.

One of the villa bedrooms is known as “The Carpenter’s Chamber” and was created by acclaimed designer Joseph Walsh, with a beautiful bed frame crafted with carefully moulded wood to create a bedhead and canopy (and office and wall art) draped with sheer white fabric that gentlydances in the breeze. This bedroom is where my 12 year old son stayed, he loved having his own room with “secret touch code” to enter and his own ensuite.

Another bedroom theme is a stunningly opulent bedroom named “The Boudoir”, a gilded suite dripping in gold, satin and velvet. glimmering with crystals and sleek satins. It comes as little surprise that Mark Brazier Jones who designed the room also had his designs featured in the 50 Shades of Grey movies.

Every room contained a King bed with ample space for a rollaway bed too.  All the modern conveniences were there including international power outlets, USB ports, writing desk, lounge area, Bvulgari amenities and an extensive toiletry kit stocked with deodorant, nail care products, razor and more.

Private Cinema

There were a lot of “ooh’s and ahh’s” when we laid eyes on our private cinema. With tiered stadium seating, walls lined with coconut husk (which provides excellent acoustic and soundproofing properties) and fabulous green faux fur seats (again, designed by the Campana brothers) we were just blown away that this enormous movie theatre was actually part of our private villa! Not to forget the 160 inch projector screen!  The children chose the movie and we all settled in our cosy lounges in our bathrobes as our butler brought in a selection of hot popcorn, chocolates, soft drinks, water, chips and chilled wine.  This was such a highlight of our stay and a memory we will treasure forever.

At Iniala there are a lot of activities available from complimentary non-motorised water sports (SUP, kayaks, surf boards) right up to Jet Skis and Super-yachts for an additional cost.  We went on the guided bike ride to a beautiful local wooden temple – a flat, easy 30 minute ride.  Iniala’s van met us at the temple with iced water and cold jasmine-scented towels and drove us back to the resort – bikes in the back! How’s that for service!?  There are many options to go on excursions for such as golf, shopping, scuba diving and sight seeing.

There’s a well equipped gym complete with boxing ring and personal trainers on standby for beach yoga, authentic Thai boxing lessons and fitness boot camp.

Full board is included in the villa rate and you can dine in and around your villa (we ate with our feet in the sand every night on our private beach) or you can choose to dine at the main restaurant Esenzi.  Esenzi is run by chef Tim Butler and you can choose to dine a la carte or indulge in a seasonal tasting menu.

Each villa has its own treatment room with their own unique look and feel. All the surfaces in our treatment room were covered in stunning white mother-of-pearl tiles, including the ceiling, creating a beautiful ethereal effect.

We enjoyed a couples massage in our room, Hubby chose the 90 min firm sports massage (and he loved the strong pressure) and I melted into relaxation with the Hot Stone massage.  Villa spa therapists are on hand any time to come to your private massage space and pamper you even without any prior reservation.

For Children

The children were absolutely spoilt at Iniala with the impressive “Island of Iniala Kids Hotel and Kids Club”.

Designed by children’s designer Christopher Jones is the perfect place you could conjour up in your imagination for your children on holiday, it’s a land of adventure.

On arrival each child receives a backpack with story book, T shirt and games.  The concept is unique as it’s much more than just a kids club as your children can even sleep at the kids club in treehouses (with little beds) and caves.

They each have four beds so families can exclusively book the kids hotel and stay overnight together for the ultimate family adventure. The kids hotel is equipped with his and her bathrooms with showers and the cutest mini bathrobes and slippers.

The kids hotel has many programmed activities like art making and treasure hunts but you can also take part in a private cooking class which our children did and learned how to make yummy hand made chocolates.
