Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour Hotel Suites – A Stylish Weekend overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge

We decided to take the whole family on a “staycation” to Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour Hotel Suites in our wonderful home city of Sydney. We had a few things to celebrate for our eldest daughter who just finished her final year of school and was awarded a scholarship to her university of choice the next year. Pullman Quay Grand, with its spectacular position on the harbour-front ticked all the boxes for this special family occasion.

The Apartment

We stayed in a huge apartment with two interconnecting rooms that had jaw-dropping views of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge from our living room.

Each apartment had its’ own fully equipped kitchen, laundry, dining area, bathroom with spa, lounge area with sofa bed and flat screen TV and of course, a master bedroom each. We had so much room for the six of us to move around without getting in each others space and we can definitely say that these apartments would have to be the most spacious we have stayed at in Sydney.

The beds were really comfy and made up with crisp white linen and got the tick of approval from Miss C…

The View

It was a challenge to drag ourselves away from the spectacular harbor view and the children especially loved watching all the action below. Each day a new (and seemingly larger and more grand) cruise ship would drift into the dock opposite the apartments and it was a wonderful sight to watch the ferries come in and out of the harbor, the exhilarating jet-boat rides and the fabulous street performers on the walkways all from our balcony.

We insisted on trying room service one night as the view at night when the Sydney Harbour Bridge lights up is just beautiful.

And we couldn’t resist ordering room service for breakfast on our last morning either!

The Bar

Hacienda Bar is the perfect place to start your evening with the most stunning fresh cocktails – presented like little works of art. The décor is gorgeous with greenery and flowers everywhere, cascading from the walls and ceiling and the velvet lounges had a glamorous fairy-tale old-world feel. The whole atmosphere is really charming with a buzz generated by a great playlist (and a live DJ at certain times) and a happy crowd. Almost all of the seating at Hacienda has a fabulous view of the Harbour Bridge and it’s equally stunning in the afternoon as it is at night when the sun sets and the iconic bridge lights up.

Hacienda, like the rest of Pullman Quay Grand is family friendly and the fabulous bar-tenders made up a number of alcohol-free mocktails for the children which were equally gorgeous as our cocktails were. The manager even discreetly brought over a bag for the little boys with a few activities like drawing to keep them entertained whilst we were soaking up the view.

We had a sophisticated a-la-carte breakfast at Q Dining, the signature glass-walled restaurant at Pullman Quay Grand.   Breakfast included lots of healthy options and freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, my favourite was the smashed avocado on sourdough with feta – YUM! Dinner time was where Q Dining really shone though. As we took our seats at our table we were again mesmerized by the twinkling lights of the Harbour Bridge, enhanced by the restauraunt’s high ceilings, dramatic lighting and glass walls.

Q Dining has an award-winning wine list (having tried a few different wines perfectly paired with each course we can concur it’s a great list!) Each course was truly delicious, and thoughtfully presented and even the children’s meals from the kids menu were generously proportioned and were completed with salad or vegetables. As parents we love it when we travel and see the kids meals hearty, tasty and healthy. Q Dining is a full Fine Dining experience in the heart of Sydney.

Out and About

The location of Pullman Quay Grand at East Circular Quay makes it ideal to explore Sydney’s top sites and attractions. During our stay here we took the children to Sydney Aquarium, Barrangaroo, Darling Harbour, The Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Art and Pitt St Mall Shopping. All of these were just a few minutes walk or a 10 min ferry ride across the harbor (the ferry wharf is right below Pullman Quay Grand).

Everybody loved our time at Pullman Quay Grand and it is definitely a spot we will be returning to for another fabulous stay.
